In 1937, a young James Stallons living in rural Trigg County, Kentucky could see a need for used automobiles. At that time it seemed that only the wealthy owned an automobile. So with a borrowed $100 in his pocket, he bought a bus ticket to Detroit, Michigan, and set out on his first of many car buying expeditions. After arriving in Detroit, James purchased two A-model Fords and a tow bar with his $100 and had enough money left to buy fuel to get home. It didn't take long to sell his first two purchases and so James Stallons Used Cars had its beginning. In 1942, James married Zelma Gray. They had 4 children; Jerry, Martha, Jimmy, and Rita. Through the years James continued in the car business as well as trading in cattle, hogs, and real estate. Although both sons took an interest in buying and selling cars, it was Jimmy who decided to make it his life long vocation. In 1966 Jimmy graduated from Trigg County High School. Shortly after graduation he began to buy and sell vehicles wholesale full time. On July 16, 1967 Jimmy married his high school sweetheart Faye Joiner. They had 4 sons; Lance, Russ, David, and Stephen. In the early 1970's Jimmy changed the name of the business to Stallons Auto Sales. All four of Jimmy's sons helped in the family business as soon as they were big enough to wash cars. In January 1995, Stallons Auto Sales opened at their current location with Lance becoming a partner with his father Jimmy. From the beginning, it was their goal to have top quality used vehicles at a fair price and provide a no pressure pleasant atmosphere to do business. Most of the vehicles we sell come with a 3 month 4000 mile powertrain warranty. In the fall of 2002, Stallons Auto Sales became the local dealer for WW Trailers.
